What is your favourite festive holiday film? Love it or hate it, cannot deny that these fuzzy, feel-good movies do not amplify the joy and warmth of Christmastime. But what is a movie experience without popcorn to pair with your classic go-to film?
As Chai lovers ourselves, we couldn't wait to have Chhabra's Chai be part of our December Box. We love the friendship that the founders share and we certainly love their take on traditional Indian Chai.
Our last gift is a reminder to our subscribers to take a breather whenever you can. What better way to practice mindfulness through these lovely essential oils from Gray’s Wood Studio. We had the opportunity to speak to Gill Nontha, founder of Gray's Wood Studio.
‘The world and the planet needs people who care’ – That is the powerful intention that Gill has in mind while she makes a difference to the environment through her business.
Did you think that we will leave out candles for our autumn box? What attracted us to Vegan Bunny were their exciting and fun scents (Chai Latte! Cuban Mojito! Unicorn Tears & Glitter!), and their beautifully designed labels. We had the chance to speak to Elisa Lubisco, founder of Vegan Bunny, to find out her inspiration behind these vegan and natural candles.
Organic, award-winning and unique skincare with a clean conscience – that is how Rebecca Martin, founder of Conscious Skincare describes her brand.
What started as a ‘random’ opportunity to attend a soap-making course grew into a passion of Butter Bar Soapery’s creator Christina Clements.
The creation of Ethicoco was not an easy task. Lyndon began his entrepreneur journey with no external funding, and had to sustain his initial vision with a bit of savings and a credit card while working on his culinary creations from his home kitchen. Even so, he was sure that Ethicoco and his craft was worth every dime and effort -- all due to a personal reason.
Our very first reveal for our November Box is Bloomtown. When we first started searching for partners to collaborate with in our inaugural box, we were immediately drawn by their focus towards rainforest conservation. And it doesn't hurt that their sugar scrubs are such an indulgence.
Bloomtown was founded in 2016 by Preyanka Clark Prakash and Medwin Culmer, after spending two years in Indonesia. Witnessing the devastating effects of the loss of virgin forests first-hand, especially to the endangered orangutans, tigers and so much of the world’s biodiversity that calls these forests home, they were motivated to embark on a mission to create a 100% palm oil-free body and skincare company to offer concerned consumers with true ethical and cruelty-free alternatives. It was this mission that is the very foundation of Bloomtown.
When Michelle and I first started toying around with the idea of The Local Collective, we both had very different visions of what the essence was all about. With my background in Business Management, I wanted to create a story-telling platform for independent artisans who take pride in their craft, to allow the audiences to be conscious about their purchasing decisions. Michelle, with her background in refugee resettlement and migrant welfare, wanted LoCo to be about igniting conversations around diversity and spreading the stories of the many communities within the UK.
The Local Collective
Our story-telling platform to tell the philosophies of local businesses all around the United Kingdom.
